What is Canine Massage Therapy? In a few words, it is massage therapy for dogs -
no different than what you would experience if you went to a massage therapist.
Canine massage therapy is a therapeutic treatment applying hands-on manipulation of the voluntary muscle system, ligaments and tendons. Massage therapy has its focus on the maneuvering of body tissues by manual methods to assist the body in its natural processes of pain reduction, improved health and well-being, stress reduction, and healing of trauma. The philosophy is based on a holistic model where all the parts of the organism are encouraged to work together in balance and harmony. This includes the physical, emotional and psychological aspects of the whole dog.
Certified Canine Massage Practitioners (CMP's) are animal health professionals who use their knowledge of behaviour, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and deep tissue massage techniques to improve a dog's physical well-being.
Canine massage therapy can be offered for competition (agility, herding, flyball, sledding, etc), occupations (Search and Rescue, military and police K9, guide dogs, service dogs, etc), rehabilitation purposes (dogs with injuries, post-surgery, rescue dogs, etc) or simply for relaxation and well-being.
To provide optimal wellness to all canine companions with compassion and respect in a peaceful and loving surrounding.
