I became a certified Canine Massage Therapist (CMT) in 2013 and am one of only a few in Calgary and the surrounding area. I have been continuing to study canine massage for over 4 years through Northwest School of Animal Massage (NWSAM) on Vashon Island, Washington. My other certifications include Canine Performance (Sports and Working Dogs) Massage and Canine Rehabilitation Massage, including specializations in Stress Point Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy and Manual Ligament Therapy™. (Manual Ligament Therapy for Animals™ is the newest, ground-breaking osteopathic massage technique, and NWSAM is the exclusive provider of training.)
I received my 1st and 2nd degree Reiki certification through Reiki Master, Barb Timmer, as well as my specialized Animal Reiki certification through Animal Reiki Source, founded by world-renowned Animal Reiki Master, Kathleen Prasad. (Reiki is a Japanese healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.)
I have also completed my Pet First Aid certification (with my dog, Belle - pictured below!), through Walks 'N Wags Pet First Aid training. In addition, I have finished one level of Tellington TTouch training. (TTouch uses a combination of specific touches, lifts, and movement exercises, to release tension and increase body awareness in animals.)
With my dedication to continuing to learn the latest trends and techniques in canine massage, I am able to provide a multi-faceted massage session for your dog.
Whether your dog is a canine athlete, recovering from surgery, suffering from arthritis or simply your beloved companion, I will help to reduce your dog's pain and anxiety, allowing them to feel healthier and more relaxed.
